About Chimera Costumes
Chimera Costumes (also known as ChimeraCostumes or Chimera Costumes by Heidi Lange) is a professional costume commission and corsetry studio based in Florida and Michigan. Operating since 2007, the studio specialises in bespoke cosplay costumes, custom steel-boned corsets, formal wear, and fantasy fashion — all custom-drafted from client measurements rather than adapted from standard patterns.
The studio's work is central to the #boobcore aesthetic: garments built for real bodies, with real structural engineering, to the standards demanded by the community.
What Chimera Costumes Makes
Cosplay commissions: Custom-drafted costume builds from $65/hr plus materials. Every commission is built from a pattern drafted to the client's specific measurements — no off-the-shelf shortcuts. Complex builds (armoured costumes, structured gowns, full dragon suits) are a speciality.
Custom corsets: Bespoke steel-boned corsets from $1,820 (including 28 hours of skilled labour). In-person fittings required. All corsets use proper steel boning — spiral and flat — in a coutil interlining, with fashion fabric of the client's choice over top.
Wedding and formal gowns: Bridal and formal commissions with the same custom drafting approach. The 25% bridal premium reflects the additional fitting sessions and care involved.
Sewing lessons: One-on-one instruction and group sewing circles at $65/hr for anyone wanting to learn to build their own #boobcore wardrobe.
